Ko Maggie ahau.
Nō reira tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa.

Cook Strait is my sea.
Taranaki is my mountain.
I am from Wellington, but now live in England.
My tribes are Irish, English and Scottish.
My name is Maggie.
And so, greetings, greetings to you all.

My interest in family history began with a fourth form project in school. I remember gathering up a whole heap of notes and scraps of paper my father had, and cobbling together a family tree of sorts from all the information.

Since that time, genealogy has had to take a back seat to study, work and bringing up three kids. With a background in theatre, promotions, web development and usability, I’m now studying for a Higher Certificate in Genealogy by correspondence with The Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies, and hope one day to merge as many of my skills and interests as possible.

If you think our families are connected, please contact me. I am more than happy to share any information, documents and photographs I have that may help in your research. And I’m very keen to discover any new relatives, however distant!
